POC testing accounts for around a third of the US$30 billion plus global in-vitro diagnostic (‘IVD’) testing market. Diagnostic testing accounts for only a low single digit % of healthcare expenditure worldwide, yet influences around two thirds of healthcare decisions.

Driven by patient need and cost savings, hand-held devices offering rapid diagnostic testing are replacing slow and expensive laboratory analysis across a range of indications.

Bio-AMD’s core technical strategy is the development of high-accuracy, high-quality but low-cost rapid diagnostic products. This is an essential requirement for achieving penetration into the POC market that is currently dominated by expensive, slow, non-portable professional products.

The Company has targeted three initial products for development, each using a similar technology platform which can be applied into specific market segments.

Digital Strip Reader (DSR) applied to Digital Home Pregnancy Test (HPT); a lowered manufacturing cost, quantitative digital test based on Bio-AMD DSR technology, able to compete on price and capability in huge market.

Prothrombin Time (PT) Monitor using COAG technology; coagulation test able to compete on price and capability to expand established therapeutic drug market.

MPR – Rapid Near-Patient, Multiple Application Diagnostic Technology; unique, widely applicable technology with a potentially massive market.
